When I began this design I was envisioning a sweater that was easy to throw on and go. I wanted the comfort of a sweatshirt with details that kept it neat and elegant. The color combinations are endless and this pattern is a great way to show off a hand dyed yarn. The yarn used for the sample is Malabrigo Sock in Persia and Ochre. The yoke made me think of a sunrise hence the name.

Finished Size 32 (36, 40, 44) 48, 52“ bust/chest circumference. Sweater shown in 40” with 3” of positive ease.

Yarn Fingering weight yarn in two colors, 100% Superwash Merino Wool; 440yds/100g, Color 1: 0.5 (0.5, 1, 1) 1,2 skeins; Color 2: 2 (2, 2, 3) 3,3 skeins.

Needles Size 4 (3.5 mm) 24” circular (cir) and double-pointed (dpn), size 3 (3.25 mm) dpns. Adjust needle sizes if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Notions Markers (m); removable marker, row counter; tapestry needle.

Gauge 26 sts and 36 rows = 4” (10cm) in St st.
