'Pigdale' Hat Child-Adult sizes
Details: Pigdale (named for the yarn colors: Pigtown and Scottdale) is a fun, striped hat with a textured panel for a little something extra. The simplicity of this design is a perfect way to show off a variegated and a solid yarn. To prevent a bunch of ends to weave in later the stripes are narrow enough to carry yarns up the side of the hat. I located the textured panel at the start of the round so that any jogging of stripes would be hidden. This hat is sized for the whole family with the smallest size being suitable for a child and the largest fitting an XL adult (or big hair). All hats are the same length giving it a stocking cap look when knit in the kids size. Because so little yarn is used, just ~1.5 to ~3 oz of each color, this would be a great stash buster project.
Size: Finished measurements are 16”, 18”, 20”, 22”, and 24” circumference and 9.5” tall.
Fit: This pattern is designed to be worn with 1-2 inches of negative ease. So the largest size should fit a head circumference of up to 26 inches. Sample is worn with 2 inches of negative ease.
Yarn: ~1/4 hank each color plied, fingering weight (approx 300 yds total)
Needle: 1 set US #4 / 3.5mm DPNs or 16” long circular
This pattern is for PERSONAL USE ONLY. Thank you
