'Knee High by July' Socks Adult sizes
These toe up, knee socks have something for everyone. Love variegated yarn? Love stripes? Love ribbing? Love the look of cables (without the effort)? I designed these with the beautiful Scottdale colorway in mind. I wanted handdyed yarn to be the focus while also taking striped socks to the next level. Since these were released in July I thought throwing in some lace would make it more possible for you to knit them right now and actually wear them now. The title came from a saying used by corn growers in which the corn should be ‘Knee high by July’.
Details: Knee High by July is knit from the toe up and uses an after thought heel. The center motif is a mix of simple mesh and a stockinette panel that is wrapped occasionally to create a smocked look. The back of the sock mirrors this element. The calf shaping is created using 2x2 ribbing for interest and to help the socks stay up. These should be worn with negative ease.
Sizes: Narrow (Medium, Wide)
7 (8, 9)” foot circumference
Calf is a separate measurement and is written for 14-16”.
Yarn: Plied, fingering weight. For all sizes only 1 skein per color is required.
Needle: Size 1/2.25mm DPNs or 1 long circular.
This pattern is for PERSONAL USE ONLY.
