'Fetching Fletcher' Knit cowl
Details: This cowl puts me in the mind of a feather and during some Renaissance Festivals street characters who collect feathers are called a ‘Fletcher Fetcher’.
Fetching Fletcher combines a simple, central cable flanked by garter stitch worked in a chevron pattern. To keep things interesting the cowl is knit flat in two different colors with the color change happening over a series of stripes of varying sizes while the cable is largely uninterrupted. A short seam is the extent of finishing. The pattern is easily modified to be longer or wider. As written, the finished size is long enough to be worn long or looped twice around the neck. In addition, the sample is knit with eyelet increases on each side of the cable. I include instructions on how to make the cowl without eyelets.
Size: One size
Finished measurements for sample are 50” circumference by 6” wide.
Yarn: DK weight superwash merino
Color 1: 1 hank , Color 2: approx 1/2 hank
Needle: 1 US #8 / 5.0mm 16” circular needle
This pattern is for PERSONAL USE ONLY. Thank you
